Triennale: Doctorate Honoris Causa to Stefano Boeri

On February 7, 2023, the University of Milano-Bicocca awarded Stefano Boeri, an architect and President of Triennale Milano, with a Doctorate of Research Honoris Causa in Chemical, Geological and Environmental Sciences. During the occasion, Boeri delivered a lecture titled "The Genius Environment" which reflects on the concepts of landscape and environment and their role in architecture.

The ceremony took place in the university's main hall, with Giovanna Lannantuoni, the Rector of the University of Milano-Bicocca, giving the introduction and Marco Emilio Orlandi, the Vice-Rector of the University of Milano-Bicocca, delivering the #Laudatio.

In his statement, Boeri said, "The Genius Environment is a way to remember how the notion of environment can be regenerated by a conception of nature as a living and subversive force. And how the notion of environment, understood as a sphere traversed and disturbed by life, as a plot of unpredictable lives, can regenerate the practices and theories of architecture and urban planning."
